So you’ve booked a stay with The Cotswold Cottage Gems for April, and now you are looking to plan which wonders of the Cotswolds you will experience, during your stay.
We are confident that each of our luxury cottages will provide the perfect base for you to explore the Cotswolds during the day, followed up with a cosy, relaxing and warming evening by night.
With April comes longer nights, newborn lambs bouncing in their new surroundings, and flowers & trees displaying new blooms. If you love your animals then a trip to the Cotswold Farm Park is a great idea. There you will see newborn lambs soaking up their first few days since birth.

With nights getting longer and brighter throughout April, it is a perfect time to get your hiking boots on and go on a lovely walk, enjoying the splendour of the Cotswolds on the way. Don’t forget, our cottages are all pet friendly so be sure to check out our handy guide of best local dog walks https://www.cotswoldcottagegems.co.uk/dog-friendly-cottages - perfect for your April retreat.
For those who are bringing the kids along for your stay, then don’t forget to check out the Batsford Arboretum Easter Bunny hunt which goes on until the 19th April. There are daily activities going on until the 19th of April which are sure to keep the kids entertained and bring smiles to their faces for many a hour.
If you love your equestrian activity or would like to take in the Cotswolds from a different vantage point, then a visit to Cotswold Riding at Jill Carenza Equestrian should make its way on to your itinerary. There are different types of hacks available, catering from beginners right through to advanced riders. You can be sure a great experience will be had by all as you stroll through the beauty of the Cotswolds on horseback.

After a busy day exploring the Cotswolds, focus turns to your evening meal. Our kitchen facilities at the cottages provide a peaceful and well-equipped setting for serving a hearty meal to be enjoyed by all. If however, you didn’t want to cook, the options in the local areas are plentiful.
If you’re staying in Bourton-on-the-Water, check out Venezia, Smiths of Bourton, or The Dial House. The Porch House and The Bell are great choices for those staying in Stow-on-the-Wold, and for those in Moreton-in-Marsh, Redesdale Arms or Siam Cottage Thai provide an array of choices for different tastes.
We look forward to welcoming you to our cottages in April, and having a wonderful experience in the Cotswolds.
