From cosy cottages in Bourton on the Water to village retreats in Stow on the Wold and Moreton in Marsh, you and your four-legged friend will find a warm welcome, a snuggly log burner and miles of countryside waiting for you.

Our Favourite Dog Walks in the Cotswolds
Bourton-on-the-Water to the Slaughters
~2.5 miles circular | Easy / Flat
If you're staying at one of our Bourton-on-the-Water cottages, this circular walk takes you from Bourton to Lower Slaughter, one of the prettiest routes in the area, with the river running alongside much of the path. Stop at the Lower Slaughter Inn for a well-earned drink before heading back for a cosy evening in.
Nether Westcote to Bledington
~4 miles circular | Moderate
Starting at The Feathered Nest pub car park, this route to Bledington church takes you cross-country and is great for wildlife-spotting - we’ve seen foxes, hares, red kites, and the occasional deer on this route. The Kings Head in Bledington keeps a stash of dog treats behind the bar for four-legged visitors.
Longborough to Bourton-on-the-Hill
~5 miles circular | Gently Rolling
A longer, gently rolling walk from Longborough past Sezincote House and Gardens. The Horse and Groom on the Hill is one of the best spots for a pint by the log burner.
Kineton Circular
~3 miles circular | Easy
A gentle, mostly flat walk near Guiting Power, with a shallow ford for water-loving dogs to splash in. The Hollow Bottom and the Halfway at Kineton both make good pit stops along the way.
Woodland Walk near Stroud
Flexible mileage | Easy to Moderate
Starting at The Fostons Ash pub on the B4070, this walk sits right on the Cotswold Way and offers miles of scenic woodland. The pub itself has a resident dog who'll happily join you at the table.
Broadway Tower and the Doggy Playground
~2.5 miles circular | Moderate incline
A short drive from Moreton in Marsh, Broadway Tower is one of the most iconic sights of the Cotswolds and has a circular walk and a dedicated "doggy playground" with sweeping countryside views (please note that dogs aren't permitted inside the tower itself).
Cotswold Wildlife Park
Dogs are welcome throughout the park's 160 acres of gardens and parkland, provided they're kept on a lead - a great day out for the whole family.
Notgrove Circular
~4.5 miles circular | Easy
A quieter countryside route ideal if you're staying near Bourton on the Water or Cold Aston, with plenty of open farmland for dogs who like to stretch their legs.

Most of our cottages comfortably welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs. If you are travelling with 3 or more dogs, please contact us directly so we can match you with our largest gardens and spaces.
Which walk is best for a shorter visit?
The Bourton on the Water to Slaughters circular is the easiest to reach without a car if you're staying in the village itself, and it's a manageable length for a half-day walk.
