Best Cosy Pubs for a Fireside Drink

To round out a proper cosy stay, you simply have to visit a Cotswold pub and have a drink by the fire. Here are a few of our favourite local pubs with their own real fires:

  • The Old New Inn, Bourton-on-the-Water - there's a real open fire in the bar of this Grade II listed 18th-century inn, right in the heart of the village.

  • The Porch House, Stow-on-the-Wold - visit England's oldest inn, with their small, cosy bar built around a real fire.

  • The Redesdale Arms, Moreton-in-Marsh - a 17th-century coaching inn with roaring log fires and oak beams, right on the High Street.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do all your cottages have log burners?

Not all of our cottages, but nine of them do have a real log burner.

Are logs provided, or do we need to bring our own?

We provide enough logs and kindling to get you going with a fire, but for the rest of your stay you'll need to purchase your own. They are easy to find locally, or you can order them in advance from us.

Which season is best for a log burner stay?

Autumn and winter are the classic choice, but a log burner is just as welcome on a chilly spring evening.
